Locally For many years we have participated with Green Gables, a home for domestic violence victims. Each We also support CWS (Church World Service) by being part of the Hunger Walk in Barry County. This year, the walk is October 10. Watch for updates soon! Our small groups provide a monthly meal for The Haven of Rest Ministry in Battle Creek, Michigan. We have also given hygiene packages and warm clothing to assist the homeless population in Battle Creek. http://www/thehavenbc.org Nationally Our adult group went to Biloxi Mississippi to help victims of hurricane Katrina, while our youth have gone to West Virginia to help flood victims and to the Cherokee Indian Nation in Oklahoma, which was devastated by tornadoes. We plan at least one or two trips a year for both youth and adults. Globally Several years ago our church was introduced to International Child Care in Port Au Prince, Haiti. We have supported this ministry through our prayers and financial help. During Vacation Bible School our children participate in activities to assist a different mission each year. More recently we have supported Tsunami Relief, the Haiti Task Force and are gearing up to support missionaries in Jamaica who previously served as pastors at Country Chapel. |
